COURAGE becomes COURAGE INTERNATIONAL, INCORPORATED

On May 16, 2007 Courage took its first step to become a non-profit corporation.  It is now Courage International, Incorporated.  Priest civil lawyer Father Richard Gorman prepared the Articles of Incorporation and the Bylaws.  After my election by the Membership Committee, chaired by Msgr. James Cassidy, I signed copies of the Articles of Incorporation.  There followed an organizational meeting of the Membership Committee over which Father Gorman presided.  The purpose of this Committee is to form a Board of Directors who will work with the Executive Director, Father Harvey, in the operation of the Corporation (Courage).  The Membership Committee chooses the primary Director of the Board, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Courage.  This person is Father Harvey.  Subsequently these members will choose their successors by election.

Father Gorman helped to organize the new Board of Directors of Courage International Incorporated.  As he had explained the articles of Incorporation to the Membership committee, he also helped the new Board of Directors to understand the Bylaws.  The new Board of Directors did elect a Chairperson, Mr. Duncan Bonnell, and a Vice Chairperson, Mr. James Baker.  Various Committees were formed.  Just as the Membership Committee decided to meet on July 18, 2007 to discuss, among other things, the election of the new members to add to its membership, the new Board of Directors of Courage also agreed to meet prior to that on July 11, 2007 to discuss the budget for Courage International, Incorporated for the year 2007-2008.  Father Harvey is an Ex Officio member of the Board of Directors, as well as Executive Director of Courage International, Incorporated.
